Caroline Sieber styles & models for Louis Vuitton

LV hits me right with  the new campaign styled and modeled by Caroline Sieber. I guess most young woman of my likes might (or wanna !!) identify to her and the lifestyle that’s showcased.

Actually, LV campaigns are pretty good. The one with Madonna was a good one. It looked more like of a fantasy while this one look more grounded in reality. You know strolling and living in the city with elegance!. Though I’m no fan of the monogram,  I went straight to the store to touch the bags and check the shapes (you know it was this borso shape). Actually, I feel for the ebene damier with cream colored straps and handles Sac Plat. I guess this particular reference had been produced only once at the introduction of the sac plat as I’ve never seen it after. Today, the Damier has dark handles.

No kidding the campaign looks great! Well done against someone who speaks loud she’s not into LV. You know it: Often woman varies!

Diane Von Furstenberg revamps her website

Bigger pics, multi sideviews of the dresses, emailed hyperlinks that actually work (at least with Mac’s Safari browser), the new website is much friendlier to navigate through. It’s a smart (and welcome) move from the label. The old website had been one of a kind at its opening: DVF was one of the first to launch its very own worldwide online store (it was useful to benchmark foreign currencies prices (Would I purchase this today, would I prefer to get this in NYC next month?)). Though it honestly became a pain in the ass and deserved a renew.

The first time I dared to push the front door of the Diane Von Furstenberg Paris store was 5 years ago. Before, I had been used to just stare at the window and the magazines. I was hunting a colorful something for my brother’s wedding.  It was summer sales in July 2006, and I got a nice green, yellow, pink, orange patterned layered camisole top I paired with a Mango skirt and high street pink heeled sandals. I’ve since became a devotee of the label. No matter the collection, She always pops colors and patterns. It’s refreshing during the darkest winters we usually experience in Paris and now in London. Beside her fashion craft, I do like that she looks charismatic. Summer Spring collection 2011 is nice. Nicer than SS10 in my view. My favorites are pictured in the slideshow

This dress

got me obsessed for half a year ever since Karlie Kloss walked the Lanvin SS 2011 RTW show.

I eventually saw it at Harrod’s, London 2 weeks ago…. It’s not really what I expected.

Well! The dress still looks gorgeous overall. Even hung on the hanger, the  firemen red silk of the skirt looks like it flies around depending upon how light sparkles on it. BUT the fabric of the top looks like .. neopren. You know this thick fabric used for diving suits.  I want to think that Elbaz chose it on purpose to smooth the line of the back and keep any ungracious skin bump under tight guard while offering good support without a bra. Though, at close sight, it looks terrible.

That’s not all. Underneath the belt the waistline seam is ruffled. And in real life, you walk, you talk, you breathe, your belt move around with you and uncover the ruffle detail. It’s like the dress design is not complete.

Nuclear shoes

One of the perks of having 2 hours commuting everyday (it has to be at least one) is I have resumed on reading.  In Paris, my commuting time was only 20 minutes twice a day most of them walking. I was more comfortable listening to podcasts on my iPhone than bumping hard my forehead in a post while watching toward my feet …

My epilogue of Paris Fashion Week RTW FW 2011

Since I got the Internet set up at home only last week, I haven’t caught up with my usual online fashion consumption. I guess I’m still a Parisian girl at heart as I reviewed only Paris’ fashion week and have left the other cities for later. This season, once more, lots of opposite styles are still (straight and large pants, low and high waist, stilettos heels and wedges and so on). It feels nice to play around with our outfits. Here I stick to what works for me in terms of what I’d see myself dive into next winter. Obviously, there’s a lot more to say. But it’d be difficult in one post.

Heidi Klum’s Grammy choice

Heidi Klum’s Grammy choice

I guess that Heidi Klum grammy’s dress was the only one I really likes at the Grammy this year. True I like it all about Klum.  Beside staying fit after 4 kids, and having an accomplished career still on the way, she also looks so relaxed and easy going.

L.A.M.B SS 2011 collection

L.A.M.B SS 2011 collection

I like that L.A.M.B. collection is so Gwen Stefanish. It was the shoes on pipelime.com that drawn my attention 2 years ago on the shoe collection. Afterwards, I knew it was Gwen Stefani’s label. I do not really follow her. I just stumble upon her design sometimes when I browse retail websites. Though, I like the collection she just introduced for Spring Summer 2011. The fact that the collection is so herself, that she wears it makes me think that she has fun doing it and that she believes in what she’s doing. It’s like she’s a whole. It gets me attracted even more.

What makes me write this post today is how rich in pattern her collection is. While lots of SS collection are solid colors and even dark tone, hers is full of pattern and sun with an obvious african inspiration in it. It’s like fresh air.
