I guess anyone has missed that the Costume Institute Gala Benefit held its 2010 edition last Monday at the MET.
Here is my review of the outfits.

First, this Michael Kors jumpsuit was a big no. A jumpsuit? golden? You know! At first glance! On the thumbnails. Eventually, it’s a massive yes. Ok ok. It’s Chanel Iman. Everything she wears, she’s doing it well. And it’s not only because she’s a model, so she knows how to, for sure. No Chanel Iman gets style. And that’s it!. What works here? The shimmering golden jumpsuit and python clutch with her caramel tone skin. The brown belt and matching shoes. The matching nails.

Here I like Hugh Dancy tux (unknown designer !! Proof that men style is completely discriminated). The fitting pants and black belt lengthen his figure. Though I don’t like the jacket (it’s not fitted enough) the overall is good. I like that he matched Claire Danes’ clutch with him. Or is it her (stylist) who matched him with her clutch? Here Danes’s gown is Burberry’s.

It’s not the first time that I pick Sarah Jessica Parker as favorite. She wore Halston and Fred Leighton gown & vintage diamond bracelets. This finely pleated shimmering pinked beige gown is gorgeous on Parker. Her bold Halston and Fred Leighton bracelets balance so well her neck kept nude. No I don’t like this big flower in her hair. But it’s so her!

The love word is for Daniel craig Burberry tuxedo. Fitting jacket with straight pants and pointed shoes. No way to go wrong. Even this leg detail is good here (while I hate this usually with tux). Satsuki is gorgeous too. I love dark blue, but it doesn’t flatter my skin tone at all.

I’d qualify this look luxury slash gothic slash S&M. Pairing this black Alexander Wang dress and provocative smoky make up is bold. Yet she’s gorgeously elegant. I’m a big fan of Bündchen. You know it. I’m just amazed that she’s in such a good shape while she welcomed son only 5 months ago. She was stunning at last year ball all blue dressed up. She’s got a baby in the meanwhile, and she’s still in such a good shape.

I admire that Gwen Stefani wears her own L.A.M.B. design. It’s obvious that she’s proud of what she’s making. Here I like the contrast : golden and white are not exactly matching colors. But here, pairing it with gross black underwear is genius. The whole is not expected but works very well. I’d like to shop L.A.M.B. in stores here in France.

3rd man of my review, Joshua Jackson is wearing Calvin Klein collection as does Diane Kruger. The tux looks bespoke with fitted jacked, straight pants and pointed shoes. Usually, I’d say that the way he tied his grey tie is a shame, but here it’s really nice. Otherwise, grey tie and black tux would be boring. Kruger makes me think about Superman’s biological mother Lara (Do You remember Susana York in Superman with the late Christopher Reeve? Yep I’m a fan. It was the first movie I watched with my first videorecorder when I was 5 or 6 … Anyway)

I guess it’s always tricky to go for short at this kind of event. Bar Rafaeli does it well with a black & cream lace gown by Rag & Bone. Though she was maybe less dressed up than rest of folk, what she donned was somewhat refreshing. The big diamonds and deep décolleté lifted up the whole.

This dress makes me think about a French comic character : Falbala in Astérix serie. This Carolina Herrera dress flatters Renée Zellweger slim line. Though I don’t usually like double colors that way, this dress is beautiful. I like that she kept it sleek with only one ring, the golden color being a jewel by itself. The big bow adds a romantic finish.

The 4th and last male of my selection is Jude Law. I like the line of his pants (straigth & fitted) and shoes. I don’t like the jacket. Not fitted enough at waist. And I hate the collar. Once more, the designer is unknown (2 of 4 of my reviews. If it’s not style discrimination I go clear on this blog and post a pic of myself). Love love love love love Sienna Miller shoes.

Jennifer Lopez strapless in a Zuhair Murad gown.

First glance. Do not think! Did Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lopez wear the same dress? I guess that’s the worst nigthmare E-V-E-R of anyone that likes dress and all that stuff. Nope. They didn’t do it. Hathaway slided in a Valentino dress, jewels by Bulgari, shoes by Casadei and bag by Ferragamo.
