What’s funny is that I used to not like Louis Vuitton a lot. The reasons are plenty.

The very first one is the memory I get from my childhood of my mom’s ¬†so-affected ‘girlfrienemies’ I hated to say Hi. Mom and I used to laugh at all of them lined up with their cloned bags.

The second reason is I don’t like the monogramed leather bags. The brown/ golden pattern is fashionably ugly. The leather isn’t soft to the touch. It’s not supple like a thick fabric.¬†The damier pattern is way hotter.

Eventually, there are so many people out there with LV bag that I wouldn’t feel unique. And I am not even talking about counterfeits.
Yet, I believe that Bernard Arnault is a business genius and I’m always curious about LVMH next moves.

I was so surprised to actually love the spring 09 campaign and especially this bag above Madonna is advertising. I love its shape. I love its color. I love its sharp-pei-like pleats. I love the ethnic threads and beads details.

Actually I love the whole campaign. Okay I don’t like the bags, but the one above and the one below with golden beads and embossed LV pattern details. The campaign looks great. The way the pics are never neat, as she’s inside a smoky bar, the the film is overexposed.

I like this “Madonna as muse” campaign. I think she embodied the label. Even her bunny ears at the MET gala in May 09 no longer looks odd.

That’s a shame that she’s already gone to Versace.
