Lanvin hommes SS2010 advertisingIs that scary? It’s not really what I’d expect from Lanvin as a visual …

But, it’s very Inès Van Lamwsweered and Vinodh Matadin.

Here, the photographers turned models and shoot themselves. Sober black covered Matadin has almost been eaten by glamazon red Van Lamsweered. The pic is fierce. It  stops me from going farther. What do they want to say? Is this Lanvin’s willing? Is this Lanvin’s message? Or is this the photographer couples word?

I guess it was the goal after all. To stop me (you) from leafing through the pages of fashion magazine’s advertising. To make us wonder. Honestly I forget ads and the label it pictures 3 pages after I saw it and until next time I bump into it once more. And I love fashion, I like ads. This ad stuck me.

What’s that? Oh an ad?

And for who? Oh Lanvin.

Is it for Lanvin female collection? Well it should be. So why is she naked? How’s the collection? I don’t see any collection. Is it a teaser, I turn one page, and others, and the entire magazine. And I get back. (I didn’t know that Lanvin was designing for men actually. Now I know that’s for men thanks to Grazia).

Does the ad keep in my head? Yes I’m still in wonder 1 month after.

Does Lanvin, the label name, keep in my head? Yes!

Am I going to rush to store and buy the collection? No!

Am I going to stop by when I see the collection in a window or a corner? Yes I’ll push the door.

Is the ad efficient in terms of selling goods ? Not much that any other ad.

Is the ad efficient in terms of printing Lanvin, the label’s name, in my mind? Yes, better than the other ads.

Is this pic art? Definitely, it’s beyond fashion.

And for you? How do ads like this one work for you?
