I know I just wept about my dying Mac and how I would be unable to write over its resuscitation week. I am hijacking a 24” iMac, which is a dream compared to my 15” MBP.

It seems that fashion tsar Karl Lagerfeld is no kinder than Anna Wintour with fat people. It’s not a surprise, but it’s funny to point it out.
Check out this excerpt of Anna Wintour interview in Morley Safer’s 60 minutes CBS show.The Tsar declared to Focus Magazine (the German one I guess) that “fat mummies sit there watching TV hands full of chips and say skinny models are ugly”. The quote comes after the editor in chief of Brigitte Magazine (a popular German Magazine) said that he won’t use anymore pro models in 2010. KL added that the beautiful clothes world is about “dreams and illusions”, and that “Nobody wants to see fat women”. I agree with KL. I don’t.

I believe that women curse models because they get jealous of something they are not ready to reach. I say not ready because being a skinny model is a job that requires, among other things, discipline. Those women watching their TV KL is talking about have no discipline and don’t try hard to get it.

Now let’s talk about those who cannot because of their genes. So why do they compare themselves with someone they can’t be. Everyone cannot be an athlete. Do they criticize athlete’s muscular, flexible gifted bodies? Do they demand that athlete has a more normal body for them feeling better? Everyone cannot be a president. Do they curse presidents’ ability for getting office. So why do people curse skinny models?

Folks argue that models are skinnier than before. Well, execs get more pressure in their jobs now. They’re well paid as well. Hey. Wake up. World’s changing. So do standards. Your grand grand mother looked like an old old lady. She never worked. She raised her children. You’ll never be nothing like her. You’ll never have the hard life she got thru.
