Have I inspired Garance Doré?

Do you see some common places between both photos hereafter?

Both blogs have a similar easy on the eye light grey background to draw attention on the pics. Both display a bold (big) pic to catch the look right at the opening of the homepage. Both let the space around the header free of contrasting colors to focus on the blog’s name. The first is Garance Doré‘s new blog’s layout. The second is the one you’re reading: mine I set up that way 1 year ago. Those are just the most obvious similarities I noted after Marie dropped a comment about how much Garance Doré’s new layout looked like mine.

I agree with her. Garance Doré’s old layout reminds me most of US magazines’ website like Interview magazine or the New York Magazine: an all bright white background with frameless white shading posts better suited for lots of writing than for a blog focusing more on pics than texts.

Should I feel flattered. I guess so. It seems that the site I’m pampering by myself browsing the Internet forums and geeks website to do some nice webdesign have inspired a reference blog and its webdesign agency.
