But … seriously! Doesn’t she remind you someone else?

Yes, Gwyneth Paltrow did it two years before at the Academy Awards 2007.

Well, I confess I was thinking “What happened to Gwyneth Paltrow? What is this colorless, shineless dress she’s wearing? No one told her that red lipstick is outdated? That bright red and dull pink do not match at all”

You know what?

I’m looking at this picture now, and I realize that GP was just 2 years early of everything: the mix of sparkling jewels, bright lips and mat dress, red and pink together. voile playing with plissé.

And it’s no coincidence. A bit of a review of Gwyneth Paltrow style over the past years shows that she has it all. And several times before every other celebs.

Here she donned a slim black headband in September 2006 at the promotion of Estée Lauder Pleasure perfume.

I thought “why is she wearing this awful little dancer chignon while she has so amazing hair?”

3 years later, the headband is on everyone’s head. I included only celebs pics (I guess you don’t care about my neighbor’s headband).

Last but not least. The mini dress. I remember GP coming back after her second baby by the end of 2007. She just slimed down. She wore very very very short dresses.

This one is at an Estée Lauder Pleasure perfume promotion in August 2007. The dress (Marc Jacobs) is not yet mini.

This Valentino dress at the Fashion Rock 2007 in october was between short and mini.

I am 5’9” (1m74). I know how hard it is to find a knee length dress since I bought my last one at the summer sale of 2006 at Esprit in Paris, and never find another one since.

It’s obvious that GP was proud of her bouncing back body after baby, and wanted to show she was coming back. But I thought it was a bit inelegant, and inappropriate for a mother of 2 in her 30s.

And you know why. 2 years after, mini dresses are perfectly acceptable no matter the event, your tallness, your age or your style.

I guess GP has a true eye 4 style. And well before the others.
