I'm just back in the London drizzle after 2 days in Paris. So nice to be home. I think I hate traveling for business. Or I think I'd love to be rich, get a first class train (to sleep well), royal suite (to relax well) and chauffeur (to keep my feet dry. Otherwise I like to stroll in town. It's actually the only advantage of my crappy life over Vic Beckham's: strolling unrecognized ha ha).

Between 2 appointments, I managed to have fun anyway. I refreshed my haircut (Alexandre & Be, the best hairdresser ever in the world), and I attended 2 exhibitions in a row: Helmut Newton at the Grand Palais Paris and Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs at Musée des arts décoratifs. I should have done it the other way. I got out of LV's with a bitter sweet feeling ste that it was crap (not really, but Newton was definitely better)

Never mind. Let's talk about Helmut Newton. Eventually a photo exhibition that displays big life-sized billboards. I never understood why argentic pictures are not sized up. They are always presented as tiny framed pictures. Yes it's expensive to print big! As is the entry!

A never seen before breed that's ramping in our fashion mind though are those 'elephant" heels (can't' help but they make me think of an elephant foot). I've been rejecting the slightest, thinnest, unlikely possibility that I have one in my closet some day so far. That is, until this morning while browsing (dreaming about) fashion at breakfast.

We had some sunny week ends last month, and so I board my new <del>toy</del> gear on a 30 minutes tour of the EDF energy London Eye (EDF is a French Company! Get out of there British Airways ... sorry I'm patriotic and that close to be kicked out from the island ha ha). The experience is amazing and worth the eye watering £17 (basic rate!). I think I will redo it at night AND on another sunny day.

So I took some amazing shots with my new Zeiss wide angle, including the one below. I thought this shot was so good (yes I'm proud of this one, I still pat my back), that it was a good iStock candidate. But besides iStock quizzes you about the their conditions before clearing your application).

My skin is kinda croc's style, so dehydrated that it may feel painfully uncomfortable some days.

It's not dry actually and that 's my biggest challenge. It is dehydrated and sensitive. That makes my face oily since my sebaceous glands are desperately trying to compensate the lack of water by infusing the epidermis with sebum. All creams for dry skin are too rich. All creams for oily skin are too harsh. All creams for normal skin are too lightweight to deeply hydrate.

Basically, it would have been easy if the skin was able to just suck up water. But the way it works is that water will dip in deep only if there's a bit a wax/ oil to help it penetrate the epidermis. I'm a sucker for the perfect cream that balances lipophilic components well enough to help the hydrophilic ingredients sink in leaving the pores unclogged. I've experimented a lot. I stopped listening Sephora's beauty advisers as

I wanted something that looked effortless but still stood out and I couldn't find my take Paris, NY, Milan & London runways. It's how I came to browse Sydney's fashion week.

It's dramatically different from the fashion royals: vivid hues are the rules rather than the exception and chiffons flying around are usual in daywear as well. Oddly, I couldn't find any fall winter slideshows. I wonder whether there's never been 'colder' fashion weeks over there? Do you know?

Those pastel colors that will fill out London streets in a couple of months (don't like it), the romantic broderie anglaise Vuitton introduced on a Carrousel at SS 2012 runway, and the Marrant-alike lace shirts were all hanged out on the racks when I stepped in Zara, Knightsbridge yesterday. With all its mass market copies and its giant retail store, Zara is even better than Vogue to get you served with all trends of the next season at one glance.
Summer will definitely look delicate and girly. All that I'd have run away from when I was a teen.

Because I do not believe that interference will help developed countries to grow out of their mess. Because they need to find their path. Because the Western countries reached what they are by paving their own history. Because Western countries have challenges to tackle in land and should mind their business first (inland poverty, homeless, orphans, domestic violence, welfare to cite a few).

But it's hard to flick to the next video on Youtube without at least sharing this one on Kony, the most wanted man by La Hague International Criminal Court, and help funding the cause.

I'm back from Notting Hill with some Spring deals. I like shopping at the very beginning of the season, when the first pieces of the new collections are out. For me they are the finest. And when sales just hit hard my bank<del>er face</del> account, Zara's tag prices feel right. Since I still feel like a new Londoner, I appreciate walking the racks of British labels that are uncommon in Paris. I reported yet about Twenty8Twelve.

My boyfriend and I wanted to treat ourselves with something special to celebrate our 1st anniversary as Londoners.

Well we do a fancy dinner very week end or so.

A crazy party? No way, tomorrow I need to wake up and commute for 1 hour to work. One play! why not. I loved to do it when I lived in Paris, and I haven't seen one since in London! Le Cirque du Soleil! Yeah perfect. They are in London until mid Feb in the Victoria & Albert Hall. We spent our wage on two seats in a logia box.Let me say it-was-worth every penny.

Marc Jacobs discusses about his tenure at Vuitton and addresses the rumors about Dior in French Vogue of February. But the most interesting part to me is how he deals with stress and creativity.

It's a given that artists are one of a kind and therefore more sensible to pressure and afraid of the wild world outa there. I honestly think it's bullshit as everyone of us is exposed to pressure at some points in life, and it's all the more true in our competitive world. I can talk for white collars, because it's the population I'm part of, but I think it's applicable to any of the millions of slaves who got to work every day, cope with commuting, do their best at the office, and still feel irresponsible toward kids, parents, friends as they do not pay bigger attention to them.

My beautician is making me switch over to Dermalogica products. My fav is the daily microfoliant which really washes off my face from all dead cells and daily dust and brightens my complexion wonderfully. I start over enjoying water on my face 4 years after I banned it over 'micellaire' solutions like Bioderma's. I refilled last month and the package was overwrapped into a secondary one inviting to make a microloan to a small entrepreneur. I didn't need to pay any more money, I already paid for it when I purchased the product (clever isn't it?)
