It seems that the collaboration between Scarlett Johansson and D&G is designed to last. Johansson is yet the make up line face since early 09.

She succeeds to Gisele Bündchen as The One muse.

Honestly, I get lost by the 180° switch Domenico and Stefano has taken with The One communication. While Gisele impersonated a hurry(cane) model at work, eager to get face to face with a pack of photographers, Scarlett’s character is a quiet, kind of desperate housewife, yet sexy and not so simple, alone sitting down in her simple kitchen, her room or lounging on her bed.
Fame against privacy. Craziness against bold simplicity. Crowd vs. no one there.
For me, The One strong and lasting notes match more a busy working woman than a private young housewife. That’s true that L’eau The One is lighter and Rose The One is another kind, but none of them fits a quiet housewife.
The One for men ad keeps Matthew McConaughey abs as rep, and the same fame/ craziness/ crowd than Bundchen’s.

I have 2 theories. It’s either the recession. Folks are longing for simple stuffs, and D&G gives it to them through a simple scene everyone can identify with. Or The One communication is consistent only on … hiring celebrities.
