The day before Wills & Kate’s royal wedding

I switched from careless about this royal wedding  just 3 days ago to madly obsessed with it.  Not only journals and the Internet speak about it, but also my French friends call me and to ask how the royal wedding of Wills & Kate is going.

Obviously, we all have received the official invite, myself included, but we all have some more important business to deal with tomorrow morning.  God! How can I keep away from it?

Okay, I can’t. I had flown at home after the office to grab my camera and off I was in the bus 16 toward Buckingham Palace to feel the mood. And you know what. It’s true: it’s just crazy out there. No need to search for the major places as folks crowd around. I didn’t know where was the Goring Hotel where the bride to be and her family will sleep tonight.I spotted it right away from the bus seat. Buckingham Palace front place has becoming the bigest camping ever. The mall was David Cameron And Camilla’s runway this afternoon. And Westminster Abbey front is well … a TV set.
There are Union flags floating all along the royal road but also Regent St. People just look excited. The city looks happy. It just feels nice to be in, I mean … around there.

This sunny week end in Paris

was as perfect as any last thing should be. It was mid January. Quite unusual and precious to get this blue sky and warm temperature. I hit the Club Med Gym at 10 am and look around Paris from the 22nd floor of the Pullman Hotel across the high roofed glass windows. The air was so clear and the sky was so blue that I felt capable to reaching out the Sacré Coeur over there with my finger. Looking toward the west, the roof of la Défense towers were clear of cloud for once. The day was perfect for cruising Paris like a tourist should do. Something I haven’t treated myself with for the last seven years I was living in the City of Light.
I did my arms, my 12 series of 2*8 abs, worked my back out, 15 minutes of treadmill, relaxed all the way up, 15 minutes hammam, took a good shower and off I was home grabbing my camera and flying down the metro to the Sacré Coeur. Unfortunately, a hideous building hides the view of la Défense from the Sacré Coeur. Instead I took this pic.

This is my 200th post

Here it is. Quite a symbol, don’t you think? The 100th didn’t make me feel authorized to scream it loud. Still needed to acknowledge myself as being a legitimate blogger. 199th, 200th, I feel like I deserve my self proclaimed title as photographer and blogger (not slash … and). And you know what am I the most proud of? Having got rid of spam comments in a the most efficient way ever:

Happy New Year 2011

to you and yours. The only thing I want to wish you (and me) this year is to get that wealth we get wished every single year. Yet for real this time.

Yesterday, I woke up early to get a walk and enjoy Paris crowd-free. I hoped that on Jan 1st, most of people would be sleeping after a night partying out. Well, some Japanese tourists were already out strolling with their cameras like me.

Here is my favorite shot of the morning. The Seine river is so high because of the rain pouring Paris suffered last week while I was in the Alps. You can see the water is leaking the piers.

Deauville, the 21th arrondissement of Paris

I got invited at Royal Barriere resort in Deauville, Normandy for 2 days by one client.

Royal Barriere resort at Deauville

Deauville is located West Northern of France, 2 hours driving from Paris. It’s called the 21th arrondissement of Paris since most wealthy parisian people own a cottage there to spend the week end at the beach not far from the city. I got excited to go there for the first time since the city is famed for being lovely. I planned my trip to take half time working, half time strolling and taking pics in between the lectures my host planned.

I woke up early on the second day to shoot the beach freely, and watch the sun dyeing the sky orange.

The beach was nothing like I used to know in the Carribbean:

A couple of weeks ago, I promised to get back with more pics of Francois Mitterrand library neighborhood on the right bank of the Seine river.

Welcome back

Welcome back

It’s been a while that I didn’t post in.

It all started with my Macbook Pro hard drive crashing up two weeks ago. 8-month-old and already dead. It’s 2nd time in less than 1 year that it happens to me. Once more Apple managed it all skillfully. They got me a new HD, recover all my data for free (it’s usually €99 ($130)), and offered me a coupon. I bought a time capsule right away. How powerful is that? My HD crashed up and I buy a $500 extra hardware … Anyway. I had two days free of my computer. So I took my camera on and stroll across Paris to shoot around
