I've always wondered how Grace Jones sculpted her updo. I wasn't shocked by her longer neck or her wider mouth. No no no. I was appealed by her haircut. You agree with me that her physical attributes are jaw dropping be it your taste or not. But besides her fascinating body and her role in James Bond, I figured out how much Jean Paul Goude contributed to make from her a timeless, unforgettable bombshell.

Way before Adobe seeded the idea of Photoshop, Jean Paul Goude used to cut out his negatives to make his pictures look as he was envisioning them. This stunning photo of Grace Jones singing and holding a ballet dancer pause .... well! it's a fake! It's cut out pieces of negatives taped together to reproduce the master's view.

I got my hands on a H4D at the Hasselblad Master day of London. I took the day off a couple of weeks ago and got myself to Shoreditch at the Hasselblad Studio. Amateurs like me, pro and Hasselblad master finalist attended. Some had flown from France or Spain. It was good fun to meet up with such a wide panel of photographers. The Hasselblad studio is fitted with an office space, a kitchen, a room for the models to get prepared and a mezzanine overlooking the shooting space.

Introducing here a Londoner in her bikini sunbathing in Hyde Park. In town! I do not usually consider myself a conservative. But it looks like Londoners don't feel that embarrassed to leaf their clothes off. Would you dare doing the same in town? I never dared doing it in Paris. I'd felt naked! Well! This is metro Maubert Mutualité station (I guess. I hardly remember, but it should be this one). The underground is just a convenience for me. I don't really like traveling that way. I take the bus whenever I can in London as well. But this roof is just stunning!

I switched from careless about this royal wedding just 3 days ago to madly obsessed with it. Not only journals and the Internet speak about it, but also my French friends call me and to ask how the royal wedding of Wills & Kate is going. Obviously, we all have received the official invite, myself included, but we all have some more important business to deal with tomorrow morning. God! How can I keep away from it?

This sunny week end in Paris

was as perfect as any last thing should be. It was mid January. So quite unusual and precious. I hit the Club Med Gym at 10 am and look around Paris from the 22nd floor of the Pullman Hotel across the high roofed glass windows. The air was so clear and the sky was so blue that I felt capable to reaching out the Sacré Coeur over there with my finger.

Yesterday, I woke up early to get a walk and enjoy Paris crowd-free. I hoped that on Jan 1st, most of people would be sleeping after a night partying out. Well, some Japanese tourists were already out strolling with their cameras like me.

Deauville, the 21th arrondissement of Paris

Deauville is located West Northern of France, 2 hours driving from Paris. It's called the 21th arrondissement of Paris since most wealthy parisian people own a cottage there to spend the week end at the beach not far from the city. I got excited to go there for the first time since the city is famed for being lovely. I planned my trip to take half time working, half time strolling and taking pics in between the lectures my host planned.

French TV speaker, journalist and writer Claire Chazal took part with Carla Bruni Sarkozy and Vanessa Paradis (and other French celebs) to a self portrait project. The pics have been auctioned at Christie's Paris on July 1st, 2010 for helping raising funds for medical research and the poorest.

Sometimes, Paris can be the weirdest place in the world. Last week end I was coming back home when I bumped into this pulley outing from one of my neighbor window .... No no no no. It's my close neighbor. This guy is not in my building. He's in a few building away.

Photoshop has just released an app for iPhone. For free. Wait wait wait. Don't jump off of your chair (as I did). Photoshop.com Mobile for iPhone is barely an extension of photoshop.com, a website for storing, sharing, editing pics. It's nothing like the famously expensively awesome software sporting the same name.
