An as usual scathing Karl Lagerfeld replies to Interview Vanity of May 2010 issue of French Elle.
Below some pearls. Bitting and funny as only Karl knows how to do it.

In his daily beauty routine, Lagerfeld uses only one product of Chanel line among 9 a day. Yep only one product of its own line… Oh… It’s not his. That’s true he’s behind fashion, not beauty line. I don’t use fashion designer beauty line myself. I believe that the price is more about the label than the science behind. I never used Chanel line (ok one or two lipstick when I was 20 and silly), and I’m glad to know that I’ve got KL’s back on that point.

Lagerfeld is bacteria and filth shy. EVERYday, he uses an antibacterial soap and the corresponding shaving foam (Nobacter). At night he removes filth with a sisley make up remover milk as cities like Paris and NYC are so dirty (that’s so true by the way). AND he whiten his hair with Klorane dry shampoo that get it clean in the same time. Fortunately, he doesn’t walk the underground. Otherwise, he’d use house detergent to get him clean.

He doesn’t do sport. But he walks a lot (between the office and the cab?), and keep standing up 10 to 12 hours a day during runway period (2 Haute Couture shows (5 days) + 2 RTW shows (5days) + let’s say 1 or 2 cruises collection a year : 12 days/ 365. That’s not a lot of gym Sir Lagerfeld! … Oh that’s true! it’s one month preparation every event. Ok + 2 months/ year. I guess that KL is THE fashion athlete.

He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t do drugs. So don’t I.

On the diet side: Proteins, and low carbohydrates like. Whole grain bread, fat free, fish and white meat and fruits (No vegetables?). No sugar. No delicacies, No cheese (Lagerfeld’s not French. He’s German). He indulges Spoonlight vanilla flavor proteins shakers with vitamins. I give you my blessing on that diet Karl. It’s almost mine. As he doesn’t want to hurt his host feelings, he doesn’t go out much.

But Sir Lagerfeld, you should have been indulging some treats from time to time. Nope. Karl Lagerfeld believe that life is discipline. Time to time could be nice, but it sucks. I definitely need to make friend with KL.

And his favorite spas? He doesn’t like spa. He doesn’t like bathsuit donning people.

Every morning: Soap and shaving foam Nobacter, then after shave Allure Sport Chanel (here it is), at the end toner, facial cream and body cream of Creme de la mer
At night: Make up milk remover Lyslait of Sisley (an amazing little french brand. I love it), even if he has no make up. It’s to remove cities dust, and then the same daily routine than he does in the morning.

As a perfume, he likes Balenciaga, Kapsule Floriental by Karl Lagerfeld, Champaca Absolute de Tom Ford, Iris Nobile from Acqua Di Parma, and Untitled the newly minted fragance of Maison Martin Margiela.
