Sometimes, Paris can be the weirdest place in the world. Last week end I saw this pulley while I was coming back home, outing from my neighbor window …. No no no no. It’s not my closest neighbor. This guy is not in my building. He’s a few buildings away (1 block actually).
Is that scary? It’s not really what I’d expect from Lanvin as a visual …
But, it’s very Inès Van Lamwsweered and Vinodh Matadin.
Here, the photographers turned models and shoot themselves. Sober black covered Matadin has almost been eaten by glamazon red Van Lamsweered. The pic is fierce. It stops me from going farther. What do they want to say? Is this Lanvin’s willing? Is this Lanvin’s message? Or is this the photographer couples word?
I couldn’t wait Barbie to unveil her last doll by Christian Louboutin.
Here she is. At least
Zinedine Zidane is a French Hero.
He saved hundreds of people from a killing bombing attack? … Nope
He’s the president to be after Nicolas? … Why not. I guess he gets even more stylish than Sarkozy is.
He rescued a poor grandma unable to cross the street? … Maybe! I don’t know.
He put an end to strikes and blockages of parisian metro? Hmm. He could! By fighting strikers? No, no. He could by giving an opened exhibition of his golden feet.
Zinedine Zidane is one of the most talented and respected players of the round ball. Even more talented that Becks, though he hasn’t got marketing genius Victoria Beckam as wife. That’s how U americans don’t hear much about him. I think that great wives make recognized men. And VB is certainly one of a kind. But that’s another story.
Zidane was one of this month’s Vogue International photoshoot. And the reason why I publish this pic is merely because I’m amazed with the guy. The guy is almost 40 years, and unlike most of his counterparts, he keeps a good shape even after stopping his professional career for 3 years. Just look this pic to figure it out. You know that I’m a disciplinarian. I just admire that people keep up in good shape. That deserved a post.
Once more, it’s the duo Photograph Cedric Buchet/ Director Anastasia Barbieri. I like what they do together.
I guess fashion & sport are amid my favorite subjects.
Annie Leibovitz shot 3 pairs of model and athlete for this issue of Style & Sport of L’équipe, a french magazine about sport.

Since Louis Vuitton hires only stars to be the faces of its campaigns, we may guess that Gabriel Aubry (only if we still got some doubt) is not anymore any model out there.

I had breakfast at Plaza Athénée, Paris a couple of weeks ago. It may seem posh as an habit. Let me say it’s damned worth the $90 I paid for.
It’s been 5 years, I guess, that having brunch is a trendy week end activity. A lot of restaurant have debuted their own. While the quality steadily falls down over time, the prices continuously rise. I won’t give any name that does that. Yet I am giving one, right here, that remains a wonderful experience. For the meals and the decor.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Everyday, I wake up 30 minutes earlier and save time to get a good starting.
Hence doing breakfast in a resort is the ultimate treat. Almost better than shopping on and errand. It’s an over the top bud’s experience in a mythic place at a reasonable price given that it’s an étoilé restaurant in a resort. (Yes I know, the breakfast is not étoilé, but Ducasse is. 3 stars buddy!).
Are you ready? Come on with me.
I start with the staff. Warm, considerate. They’re truely nice. I arrived. I felt home.
Second, the place! It’s beauty.
Kate Moss graced the latest cover of Vogue Hommes International Paris. I couldn’t resist posting the photoshoot. It was done in Saint Barth. I’ll maybe spending 2 days there next summer. (Yeah, I know, I was saying that this summer would be staycation. Maybe not. I’ll see)
I shot this yesterday in Paris’ 4th arrondissement few steps away (10 actually) from the Seine river. This winter has been so tough and so cold. I felt it even harder that I enjoyed sunny Palo Alto last year.
I’ve been waiting those Prunus to come into flower for one month. I used to rollerblade around before I left to California.
For me, Spring is officially on.
I’ll be posting other shoots of Paris over the next couple of months.
I like the mix of iron muscles and tenderness his look and the way he carries the baby goat exude. Protective and powerful.
I was so pissed last month to have missed this issue of French Elle staring Alessandra Ambrosio. I borrowed it last Friday at my ophthalmologist practice.
Nope , mom never talked about borrowing magazines in physicians’ practice. She stopped me from stealing candies only. And the issue is 1 month old. It’s already all read. And there are other magazines.
Anyway,
After getting stuck with Barbara Palvin’s angel face on L’officiel Feb 10 cover a few weeks back, I bump into her once more thru Stella Forest Spring Summer 2010 collection campaign.
I knew she of Hungary when I had a rush of Hungarian visit when I published my last post about her. She’s 16-year-old and 5”6′ (1m68) tall.
I bumped into this ad a few weeks ago staring Daria Werbowy at Stefanel store at Saint Germain des Prés. God she’s sensual.

Have you gone yet to La patisserie des rêves? It’s a new pastry concept at Rue du Bac in Paris near Le Bon Marché. I heard about it from my friend Kate.
“Gaelle, there’s a new pastry in Paris you need to go. It’s la patisserie des rêves at Rue du Bac. Those are your dream pastries”
